Ride!Philadelphia Transit Portals Signage

The first six sites of the Ride!Philadelphia transit portals project opened in October. The program is designed to make access to subways, trolleys, and regional rail lines in Center City clear and informative. At grade, a T-logo (for "transit") is illuminated when trains are running; attached to the pole are blades that describe what lines are accessible from that entrance, including concourse access. This information is reinforced on the soffit sign (bottom). Near the foot of the stairs are: a sign describing the location, nearby destinations, and reference to the Walk!Philadelphia pedestrian system (center); and a map to Center City's extensive concourse network (far right). Design and planning for the remaining 100 access points in Center City is underway. Bresslergroup is the industrial designer.
