Star Wars at microscopic scale

One of Centocor’s founders imagined a broad range of medical functions for monoclonal anti- bodies, among them neutralizing the fatal effects of septic shock (left) and visualizing the extent and severity of heart attacks (below). For Centocor’s 1986 annual report, Katz Wheeler developed illustrations of these applications, using a Star Wars metaphor.
