Electoral Inequity

This graph shows the distorted power for each state relative to a hypothetical norm of the average of number of people per electoral vote in the U.S. (560,288 (2000 census). Naturally, because of rounding, there will always be differences. Of particular interest is the fact that almost 64% of American citizens have too little electoral power. Red and blue show the assignment of each state's electoral votes in 2004, showing that electoral distortion is not exclusive to one political party.
